Academic Year Opening Ceremonial Faculty Council Meeting

The Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Engineering held its ceremonial academic year opening faculty council meeting on September 7, 2026. The ceremonial session was opened by Dean Prof. Dr. Gábor Mucsi, who welcomed all attendees—especially the first-year students beginning their studies after successful admission.

During the session, Prof. Dr. Gábor Mucsi delivered his ceremonial speech, highlighting the importance of engineering and natural science education. He announced that a total of 280 first-year students were admitted: 162 to bachelor's programs, 86 to master's programs, and 32 to postgraduate programs.

The ceremony included the solemn oath-taking of the first-year students, followed by their official induction into the student body.

The event continued with the presentation of the Pro Facultate Rerum Metallicarum commemorative medals and the awarding of Dean's Certificates of Commendation.

The program proceeded with a Miners' Day commemoration, during which Outstanding Freshman Scholarships were awarded and this year's jubilee diploma holders were honored.

Finally, in his closing address, Dean Prof. Dr. Gábor Mucsi wished continued success to the students and colleagues, after which the ceremonial session concluded with the Miners' Hymn.
