Representatives of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Engineering at the University of Miskolc, Dr. Roland Szabó, research fellow at the Institute of Raw Material Preparation and Environmental Technology and Noémi Németh, MSc student in Process Engineering for Raw Material Production, participated in the IMPK – International Summer School on Sustainable Building Materials and Technologies, organized by the Cracow University of Technology under the international SPINAKER Programme. The event took place between 29 June and 10 July 2026.
The educational programme, focused on sustainable building materials and construction technologies, was supervised by Professor Izabela Hager of the Cracow University of Technology. The summer school was conducted in a hybrid format, combining one week of online instruction with one week of on-site training in Krakow, Poland.
Participants from Hungary, France, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Türkiye, Vietnam, Taiwan, and North Macedonia attended the programme, creating an excellent platform for international cooperation, knowledge exchange and intercultural networking.
Throughout the programme, participants completed 60 hours of coursework through nine specialized micro-courses, covering sustainable construction materials, innovative building technologies and the principles of sustainable development in the construction sector. The representatives of the University of Miskolc achieved an exceptional result, becoming the only participants in the entire programme to complete all courses with a 100% score.
Participation in this international educational initiative enabled the University of Miskolc representatives to exchange professional experience with international colleagues, establish new academic partnerships, and gain insight into advanced global practices in sustainable construction. The knowledge and competencies acquired during the programme will be incorporated into the University's teaching and research activities, supporting further international collaboration and enhancing the quality of education for future engineering professionals.
