The aim of the training
Graduates are capable of identifying and surveying existing or potential environmental hazards, preventing or reducing environmental harm, coordinating remediation projects, designing and operating waste management and monitoring systems, and testing and recultivating contaminated sites.

Detailed description
The aim of this programme is to train environmental engineers primarily in two areas that are important and showing dynamic growth in Hungary today. The first area of emphasis is waste: its origin, use as a secondary material, management and safe disposal are topics needing engineering knowledge. This includes the processes involved in waste incineration and decomposition, biogas utilisation, and the operation, closure and monitoring of landfills. The second focus is high-level hydrogeological, engineering and technical knowledge for groundwater protection and the closely connection issue of remediation of contaminated waters.
