The aim of the training

The aim of this English-taught programme is to train highly-qualified engineers that have knowledge in the exploration, exploitation and production of both conventional and unconventional fossil fuels and that are capable of applying this knowledge on an international level.

Detailed description

The programme is designed to meet the needs of the hydrocarbon industry for integration knowledge in geology, geophysics and production process, while also providing opportunities to tackle challenges in the planning and management of research and to use simulation modelling using the same software programs as used in the industry globally. Specialised topics are integrated into the curriculum (the geology of drilling, geothermal systems) and integrated projects involve students in teamwork for a complex evaluation of an explored hydrocarbon field. Graduates of the programme are employed in Hungarian and international companies in both the upstream and downstream sides of the industry.
