The curriculum of the programme is based on the teaching and research experience that has accumulated at the University of Miskolc in the production, transport and utilisation of oil and natural gas over the past fifty years.
Judging from developing trends, we can see that fossil fuels will continue to be a primary energy source in the 21st century, one that cannot yet be replaced by other sources, meaning that the knowledge and activities of petroleum engineers will be necessary in the long term. As the internationally accepted language of the oil and gas industry is English, petroleum engineers who have carried out their studies in English will have an advantage in the international labour market.
